| Other Notes | Noel was born in Ireland Dec 25 1922. She came to New Zealand with her parents Edward and Elizabeth Bollard in 1929. Educated at Auckland Girls Grammar, Noel left school to work at George Courts. She married James Parkinson. She started her library career as a volunteer in the Glen Eden Library in 1958 and was appointed Glen Eden Librarian in 1960. In 1983, after 23 years service, Noel retired and later, in the early 1990s returned once again as a volunteer on Friday evenings. |
