| Description Summary | Based on oral histories with business owners along the main street of Henderson, the exhibition Henderson Stories - Voices of Our Community is a celebration of the vibrant multi-ethnic business community of the West Auckland suburb of Henderson. Local business people, Councillors and families speak at the opening on their experiences of living and working in the busy historic community, once a thriving part of Waitakere City Council, now a large shopping and transport hub for the West. The exhibition included photographic, sound and moving image elements. The collection is available to listen at the West Auckland research Centre, Waitakere Central Library, Henderson. |
