| Description Summary | The Ranfurly Veteran's Home, which opened in 1903 as a memorial to the Boer War, was erected as a tribute to the British Empire and outpouring of Pride about the place of New Zealand in Empire. Writer and Oral Historian Claire Hall interviewed several World War Two veterans living at the home about their lives and their experiences during their time in service. The Ranfurly project was conceived to record their stories before the loss of the service men and women residing in the home. |
