| Description Summary | Gay Keane talks about her memories of going to the pictures at the Regent Theatre in Helensville. Her earliest memories are of going to Tarzan movies with her family. These were her father’s favourite movies. She recalls newsreels during the war years, and going to live shows at the Regent Theatre. She also talks about her experiences of going to matinee sessions of the movies at the Regent. She has happy memories of the impact of rock’n’roll music and dancing as shown in movies. She recalls going to rock’n’roll movies at Devonport. |
