| Description Summary | Bill researched the tunnels which were built as air raid tunnels in 1942 to shelter up to 22,000 inner Auckland city dwellers from Japanese bombing raids. In 1942 there were hundreds of Dalmatians living in the central city area. Some of the Dalmatian men who boarded in the city helped dig these tunnels. Bill talks about these tunnels and has a list of names of Dalmatians who worked in the them. |
