| Description Summary | The Waitakere Chinese community established the Auckland Environmental Protection Association Chinese Community of West Auckland in July 2012 to show their appreciation for the help they received as immigrants to New Zealand.
Mr Diao, the chair person of the group, talks about his inspiration in setting up the group.He talks about how a group of retired older Chinese immigrants with no English language skills worked togather with Auckland City Council and Whau local board to develop a sustainable graden in New Lynn. He explains how this group started with wanting to clean up around the Waitakere Library, West Auckland where they met every Friday. |
